North Rhine-Westphalia: Radio station WDR 4 invites you to an "Evening with Harald Schmidt"

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - Entertainer Harald Schmidt ("Harald Schmidt Show") chats about his life in a new radio show on WDR 4 station. The format is called "An Evening with Harald Schmidt" and will be broadcast on Monday (7 November, 7 p.m.), West German Broadcasting (WDR) announced on Saturday. Schmidt - who turned 65 in the summer - will provide "deep insights into his personal life", present his favorite music from the WDR-4 program and exchange ideas with the audience "about the special features of life". The conversation partner was moderator Heike Knispel.

According to WDR, the idea for the format came about during a visit by Schmidt to the broadcaster a few months ago. The chemistry with presenter Knispel is said to have been right immediately. "And then the idea came up, 'Let's do something together'. And here it was bagged up very quickly," Schmidt is quoted as saying in the WDR report.

The WDR-4 news announcer Joachim Augner should also be part of the program - called "eye". Schmidt said of him: "When the end of the world is announced, I would like to hear it by eye. He has this voice that even with bad news there is still a remnant of hope."
