Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - The fire brigade continues to look for a 33-year-old man with divers in a lake in Duisburg on Wednesday. He slipped off an air mattress on Tuesday evening, fell into Lake Masuria and has been missing ever since, a police spokeswoman said. During the night, the search was interrupted because of darkness.
The water is up to eleven meters deep, said the police spokeswoman. The man was with relatives at the lake and probably drank alcohol. Swimming is forbidden at Lake Masuria. A lake may look harmless, but it could become a death trap, said the police spokeswoman.
It was very hot on Tuesday. Police said the call came in around 7 p.m. At 5:10 p.m. in Duisburg-Baerl, the daily high for NRW was measured at 39.5 degrees.
