Ratingen (dpa / lnw) - A 25-year-old Ratingener is said to have tried armed with a knife to break into his neighbor's house via a balcony on the fourth floor. The 37-year-old had been woken up by suspicious noises and had noticed the uncanny guest levering around on his balcony door, as the police reported in Mettmann on Monday.
He then fled on the night of Sunday via scaffolding to the higher floors of the six-storey house. Further investigations revealed that the suspect was likely to be a resident of the upper floors.
After he did not answer, special forces broke down his door in the morning and arrested him without resistance. Because he made a confused impression and was already well known, he was admitted to a psychiatric ward.
