Saxony: 90-year-old confuses gas and brake: two seriously injured

Eibenstock (dpa/sn) - A 90-year-old driver mixed up the gas and brake pedals and drove into a tree near Eibenstock (Erzgebirge district). The driver and his 88-year-old passenger were seriously injured, the police said on Sunday. The man had stated that on Saturday in a curve in the Carlsfeld district, a car had come towards him on his lane and he wanted to swerve to the right. However, he stepped on the gas pedal, went off the road and crashed into the tree.
