Dresden (dpa / sn) - This Saturday (12.00 p.m.) Dresden is one of six nationwide locations for a demonstration for social justice in the energy and climate crisis. Under the motto "Solidarity through the crisis", demonstrations are to be held for more cohesion, social security and an end to dependence on fossil fuels. Rallies are also planned in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hanover and Stuttgart. Trade unions, social and environmental organizations have called for the demo at the Goldener Reiter in Dresden.
"In this crisis, we stand in solidarity with Ukraine. But we now need a policy of solidarity here too, which at the same time sets the course for ending dependence on fossil fuels," the organizers said. The demonstrations are intended to reinforce demands for targeted help for people in need, for an overall strategy to secure a sustainable and affordable energy supply and for investments in climate-friendly infrastructure and renewable energies.
