Halle (dpa/sa) - A 25-year-old has been sentenced to three years in prison for attempted manslaughter at the regional court in Halle. The court found it proven that the man stabbed his victim in the arm and upper body with a knife in September 2020, a court spokesman said on Monday. The verdict had already been made a few days ago.
The act was preceded by a dispute between the accused's brother and the injured party's brother, the spokesman said. In the city park in Halle, there was later an argument between the two parties involved. In the course of this, the accused pulled a knife he was carrying from top to bottom through the injured person's arm and upper body. According to the court spokesman, the victim suffered significant but non-life-threatening injuries. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
