Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The campaign weeks for Christopher Street Day in Magdeburg begin on Friday under the motto "Queer Europe - Never Gonna Give You Up". To start with, rainbow flags are to be hoisted at City Hall in the presence of Mayor Simone Borris (independent). "Magdeburg is a cosmopolitan and tolerant city in which people can live, love and grow together in peace, regardless of their sexual identity, descent, culture, language, origin, belief, religious or political views," Borris said in a statement.
More clubs, organizations and companies than ever before took part in the action weeks and the city festival, said CSD board member Falko Jentsch. The program ranges from political talk to a visit to the zoo, mini golf and a rainbow family festival, as the organizers announced. The demonstration and the town festival will take place on August 20th.
