Saxony-Anhalt: Corona incidence increases to 494.7 in Saxony-Anhalt

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, the corona incidence continues to rise. According to the overview of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI/Berlin) on Thursday, 494.7 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered within seven days. A week ago it was 455.9. According to the RKI, it was 740.3 nationwide on Thursday (previous week: 720.4; previous month: 458.5). The health authorities in Saxony-Anhalt recently reported 2737 new Covid 19 cases to the RKI. Regionally, Halle still has the highest incidence with 698.7, the Salzlandkreis the lowest with 366.0.

However, the seven-day incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values. According to the overview, three more people have died in connection with a corona infection in Saxony-Anhalt.
