Saxony-Anhalt: four-year-old seriously injured in an accident

Gräfenhainichen (dpa/sa) - In a traffic accident in the district of Wittenberg, a four-year-old child was seriously injured in the back seat of a car by loaded paving stones. The boy sat unsecured on a booster seat in the middle of the folded rear seat on Monday, the police said on Tuesday. In the trunk were a variety of cobblestones. The 56-year-old driver of the car had to brake hard because of an oncoming turning car near Gräfenhainichen. A 67-year-old then drove his car. The impact threw the stones out of the trunk and into the child's back. The four-year-old suffered serious injuries. The driver of the car that hit the car suffered minor injuries.
