Saxony-Anhalt: More than 100 injured people from Ukraine in the east

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In the past eight months, Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg and Berlin have organized the transport and transfer of more than 100 injured people from Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior in Magdeburg on Monday.

The federal and state governments had agreed in the spring to carry out medical care for the injured from Ukraine attacked by Russia in the so-called cloverleaf structure. So that patients can be distributed to hospitals in different regions of Germany in a structured manner, several federal states are combined to form a "cloverleaf". According to the information, more than 500 patients from Ukraine have been admitted to Germany so far, and more than 100 in Kleeblatt Ost. The task there is coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior in Saxony-Anhalt.

"Humanitarian aid for patients is a building block of our solidarity with Ukraine," said Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang (CDU). "Our job is to transport injured people to the hospitals and distribute them so that they can get the medical care they urgently need."

The Kleeblatt concept 2020 was developed for the first time in the context of the corona pandemic for the nationwide transfer of intensive care patients. Since March 2022, patients who need medical treatment in connection with the war in Ukraine have been transferred via the structures.
