Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Even after the fourth round of negotiations, there is no collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry in Saxony-Anhalt. "At the moment, the ideas of both sides are still a long way apart," said the employers' association VME on Friday afternoon. IG Metall said: "While employees have only sporadically stopped work for a few hours, there is now a risk of longer and more serious absences in the companies."
The employee side is demanding eight percent more money, if possible over a period of twelve months. The VME rejects this due to the increased costs and suggested a one-time payment of 3000 euros. According to employers, around 10,000 employees are being negotiated.
"Our offer has been available for two weeks and opens up space for a deal," explained VME negotiator Frank Aschenbach. "With the EUR 3,000 tax and duty-free inflation compensation premium, we have made an offer that helps our employees directly and immediately. The term of 30 months offered is also important, because a long term is the basis for being able to talk about a table increase. " The employers are interested in a speedy solution. A new hearing date will be sought as soon as possible.
IG Metall said: "With demands for working time extensions, blunt one-time payment offers with exorbitant collective agreement terms and, last but not least, the questioning of collectively agreed special payments, employers are poisoning the mood of the current collective bargaining round and are also heating up the workforce."
