Zeitz (dpa/sa) - Zeitz in the Burgenland district is again celebrating the "sweetest city festival in Central Germany" after a two-year Corona break. After the opening of the festival week on the occasion of the traditional sugar festival on Sunday, the highlight is on the program from October 7th to 9th. For the first time, according to the city, the festival has been extended to a week and also made it "more colorful and diverse". Several thousand visitors are expected. It starts with an autumn market in Moritzburg Castle Park, where more than 70 traders want to set up a hustle and bustle. There are offers for the house, yard and garden, as well as culinary delights and a children's program.
The actual sugar festival in Zeitz takes place from October 7th to 9th. Instead, the city center around Altmarkt, Roßmarkt and Neumarkt will be transformed into a large festival and party mile. There is music and dancing on five stages, and numerous stands adorn the streets of the city centre.
