"We don't just have to solve this extremism problem for security reasons, it's about more, it's about the reputation of one of the most attractive federal states," he told the Süddeutsche Zeitung (Wednesday). It is the "most serious locational disadvantage" for Saxony in the public perception.
With a view to the impending energy bottlenecks in winter, Schuster warned of new protests: "If it gets really hard in winter, then there is a risk of a social crisis that will bring people onto the streets." It is clear that AfD and the extreme right-wing Freie Sachsen would try to use this.
When asked about the connections between Saxon police officers and right-wing extremists, Schuster said: "The Saxon police need a model and are already working on it." The point is that the no-gos and the corresponding consequences are clear. To do this, they are relying on a new type of service and technical supervision.
