Dresden (dpa/sn) - The prizes for the best school newspapers in Saxony go to Rodewisch, Sehmatal, Kamenz and Leipzig this year. Minister of Education Christian Piwarz (CDU) emphasized on Thursday that school newspapers are mouthpieces with which students can actively participate in school life. "You contribute to a positive learning environment." A total of 118 entries were submitted for the Youth Journalism Award 2022. The winners were selected by a jury. There is a trophy, prize money and book prizes to be won.
The first prizes, awarded according to four different school types, go to the "Schiller-Bote" from the Friedrich-Schiller elementary school in Rodewisch, "The Owl" from the secondary school in Sehmatal, "SCHULZ" from the Lessing-Gymnasium in Kamenz and the "Scarecrow" from the Werner-Vogel- school center in Leipzig.
