Saxony's lottery players have won six million in 2022 so far. Almost all of the large sums were won in the spring months of May and June.
Leipzig (dpa/sn) - So far this year, six lucky people have won millions in state lotteries in Saxony. Five players placed their bets on the correct numbers in the classic "6 out of 49" lottery, and according to Sachsenlotto, one winner scored one million in the keno lottery. In 2021 there were five lottery millionaires in Saxony.
The players were particularly successful in spring. In May, around 1.2 million euros were won twice in Saxony, in June three tipsters won just under 3.7, just under 1.3 and around 1.7 million euros with the famous six correct numbers. The keno winner was able to look forward to his million at the end of January.
A jackpot did not go to Saxony in 2022. In the classic number lottery, not only 6 out of 49 numbers but also a so-called super number must be typed correctly. Jackpot winnings are often in the tens of millions. In the Eurojackpot lottery, up to 120 million euros are even possible. There are still a few chances to hit the jackpot until the end of the year.
Last year, people in Saxony spent an average of 80.62 euros on lotteries. For the Saxon lottery company, 2021 was the second year with the highest turnover in its history, with stakes totaling EUR 327 million. The balance sheet for 2022 is not yet available.
