Greiz (dpa/th) - An 83-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured in a collision with a car. According to the police, a 51-year-old driver was driving out of town on federal highway 94 (Bruno-Bergner-Straße) in Greiz on Friday morning when she hit the pensioner with her car who wanted to cross the street. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the 83-year-old succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver was not injured and was receiving medical attention.
The road was closed to pedestrians and motorists for a good two hours. The 51-year-old's car was towed away for further investigation. The police are now investigating the accident.
