Erfurt (dpa/th) - According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the corona incidence for Thuringia was 125.8 on Tuesday morning. This emerges from figures from the RKI dashboard. In the previous week, the value was reported as 183.8. Nationwide, the incidence was 307.2 as of Tuesday.
However, experts assume that many corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health authorities report their data on a daily basis, especially at the weekend and at the beginning of the week there can be a delay.
According to the RKI, 1157 new infections were reported for the Free State. The total number of registered cases has thus increased to 708,032 since the beginning of the pandemic in spring 2020. Another death was also registered. According to the official figures, there have been 7,269 deaths in connection with the corona virus in Thuringia since the beginning of the pandemic.
