Thuringia: Thuringian shepherds determine their national champion

Hohenfelden (dpa/th) - The Thuringian shepherds will determine their national champion on Saturday (9:00 a.m.) in the Hohenfelden open-air museum (Weimarer Land district). Four competitors who have qualified for the competition in regional rounds compete against the defending champion Herbert Kind from Königsee. With their own dogs and a foreign herd, the keepers have to complete various stations on the occasion of the 29th Thuringian Shepherd Day. The program also includes an animal show, with around a dozen breeds of sheep, and a show competition in spinning wool.
