Wolfgang Petry and his wife Rosemarie have been married for a whopping 50 years. And apparently they are still as in love as on the first day. On the occasion, not only a few love secrets are revealed, there is also a very special song.
On November 20th, Wolfgang Petry and his wife Rosemarie celebrate an anniversary that not many married couples manage to do: their 50th wedding anniversary. In an interview with the "Bild" newspaper, the couple now revealed their love secret.
His "Rosie" not only went through good times with him, but also "went through the shit," explains the 71-year-old. And further: "The good Lord said yes to us three times. I can't imagine it any other way."
But the singer has apparently done a lot right in his relationship. She loves everything about him, says Rosie, "except for his know-it-all syndrome." But he is also very romantic and tells her every day that he loves her. And further: "We often walk along beaches, then we hug each other and review our lives."
This romantic streak also inspired Petry to make a special wedding anniversary gift: "You belong to me and I belong to you" is the name of the public declaration of love that will be released as a single this Friday. The single also heralds his new studio album Stark wie wir, due for release on March 3, 2023.
For the video that will be released for the golden wedding, the couple even stood in front of the camera together for the first time. "A touching moment in my life," Petry said of the experience, according to the press release. Rosie explains about the shooting: "It was actually quite funny, but also the only time." She feels "much more comfortable" in the background.
