A group of young people is said to have seriously injured a 33-year-old in front of the train station in Alfeld, southern Lower Saxony, because he came to the aid of a woman. Five suspects aged 15 to 17 were provisionally arrested after the attack on Friday evening, according to the police and public prosecutor in Hildesheim. She is being investigated for dangerous bodily harm. Two 17-year-olds were to be brought before the magistrate, the other suspects were released.
