Rory Stewart: An ex-MP appeals for help in finding a lost wedding ring

Rory Stewart, a former Conservative MP, appealed for help finding his wedding ring after he "dropped it" at an event.

After giving a talk at Buxton's Opera House on Saturday, the former Tory cabinet minister claimed he had lost the ring in Buxton.

He tweeted that he believed it was "dropped onto St John's Road", near the venue.

He said he was "embarrassed" by the tweets and would be grateful for any retweets.

Stewart was the Conservative MP Penrith and Border from when he was expelled by the Tories for his rebellion over Brexit in 2019. He said that it was an "old gold ring with cross on the head".

Before he ran for the Conservative leadership in 2019, he was international development secretary to Theresa May.

Boris Johnson was made prime minister by the Tories, but he was then expelled and left Parliament to run for independent candidacy in October 2019.

Within an hour of posting his tweet, it was retweeted thousands upon thousands.
