Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang (CDU) pointed out the importance of refreshed first-aid knowledge. "Civil protection starts small," she explained on Saturday on the occasion of International First Aid Day. Everyone can contribute to protect and help themselves and others. "This applies to first aid after a traffic accident, when an elderly neighbor faints on hot days or in other crisis situations where quick and courageous intervention can make a difference."
All adults between the ages of 18 and 65 should not only have completed a first aid course, but also regularly refresh their knowledge, it said.
