Sotogrande (dpa/lsw) - Bundesliga soccer club SC Freiburg has arrived at the training camp in Sotogrande, Spain. There, coach Christian Streich's players are preparing for the rest of the season, which starts on January 21 at VfL Wolfsburg. 27 professionals were on board the plane from Zurich to Malaga on Wednesday morning. Striker Kevin Schade, who had moved to Brentford FC in England, was not there. Goalkeeper Noah Atubolu was also absent due to illness, but the 20-year-old is said to follow.
After arriving at the team hotel, the first session on the polo club pitch was on the program in the afternoon. The U23 of the Breisgau team also trains there. The third division team had traveled to nearby Estepona the day before. The Bundesliga runners-up have their first friendly against FC Basel on January 7th, while Hamburger SV will be their second opponent on January 13th.
