Baden-Württemberg: VDA calls for more speed in the expansion of the charging stations

Karlsruhe (dpa/lsw) - According to a survey by the VDA, Baden-Württemberg only occupies a place in the lower midfield nationwide when it comes to charging stations in relation to electric cars. This was reported by the "Badische Latest News" (Thursday). According to the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), 224,758 e-cars were registered in the country on April 1, 2022, compared to 10,134 publicly accessible charging points in the south-west. This would mean arithmetically 22.2 electric vehicles at one charging point. The southwest thus occupies eleventh place among the federal states.

VDA President Hildegard Müller told the newspaper: "We urgently need more speed in expanding the charging infrastructure, also in Baden-Württemberg. This is shown by our charging network ranking." Everyone involved should now be seated at one table. Consumers must be able to charge reliably. According to a spokeswoman, the survey of the VDA with the nationwide figures should be published on Monday.
