Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Bundesliga soccer team VfB Stuttgart will have their dress rehearsal against a well-known opponent before the start of the new season. The Swabians will meet FC Valencia on July 23 (3:30 p.m.) on their home turf, as VfB announced on Tuesday. The six-time Spanish champions presented a new head coach last week in the form of former Italian international and 2006 world champion Gennaro Gattuso.
A week after the duel, the competitive season starts with the first round of the DFB Cup. Opponent is the SG Dynamo Dresden. In addition, a preparatory game against SV Wehen Wiesbaden will be played behind closed doors on July 6th. Thus, five test games are fixed.
