Bavaria: 15-year-old falls five meters deep during apple harvest

Bad Staffelstein (dpa / lby) - A 15-year-old fell from the fork of a wheel loader during the apple harvest and was seriously injured. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the youth was sitting in a basket on the fork of the vehicle in Bad Staffelstein in Upper Franconia (Lichtenfels district). It was driven by his 17-year-old brother, who has been allowed to drive such vehicles for two years. When he stopped the vehicle briefly, the wheel loader overturned on a sloping terrain. The 15-year-old fell five meters and injured his face. The brothers were taken to the hospital, the older one suffering from bruises and shock.
