Bavaria: 1860 Munich criticizes insults against shareholders

Munich (dpa / lby) - TSV 1860 Munich has condemned insults against its shareholders. In a statement on Monday, the third division soccer team referred, among other things, to insults against the controversial investor Hasan Ismaik. "The lions stand for freedom of expression, tolerance and togetherness. Criticism is expressly desired if it is expressed in the right form and ideally is even constructive and goal-oriented," said the management in an open letter.

The traditional club called for people to distance themselves from insults in the stadium. On "other playing fields" the 60s appealed to reason. "Therefore, we call on all Löwen fans to refrain from insults against all shareholder representatives on the Internet, whether in the comment columns of the club's social media channels or on the Internet, and especially in the comment section of the blogs."

After two wins, however, the team wants to expand their strong start in the league. "We have to be wide awake tomorrow," warned coach Michael Köllner ahead of Tuesday's home game (7 p.m.) against SV Meppen. "Meppen have four points. They have strengthened well and have a good team. It's about having absolute focus on the game."
