Bavaria: Condition of elementary school students after a playground brawl is stable

Vohburg an der Donau (dpa/lby) - According to the police, the state of health of a ten-year-old after a serious brawl in the schoolyard in Upper Bavaria is stable. The boy suffered a brain hemorrhage, said a spokesman for the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North on Thursday. To what extent there is a causal connection with the dispute is still unclear.

According to the police, the boy had argued with a classmate on Monday at the elementary school in Vohburg an der Donau (Pfaffenhofen district). "One wanted something that the other didn't want to give him," the police spokesman explained.

Then the argument turned into mutual pushing and kicking in the legs. Finally, the nine-year-old hit the other boy in the stomach with his fist. He then fell to the ground. The investigators were initially unable to say whether the fall triggered the cerebral hemorrhage or whether an illness already existed beforehand.

Because the victim complained after the fall that he was not feeling well, the school called an ambulance. The boy was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery there.
