Munich (dpa / lby) - A football fan lit pyrotechnics on the window of his Munich hotel room, triggering a fire brigade. According to the fire brigade, the resulting smoke moved into the hotel on Tuesday morning and triggered an automatic smoke detector.
The England national team supporter had dumped the lit "Bengal Torch" on the hotel's canopy, allowing the cause of the smoke to be quickly identified. Nobody was injured in the incident, but according to the fire brigade, the action should be expensive for the football fan.
The national soccer teams from England and Germany meet on Tuesday evening as part of the "Nations League" in Munich.
