Munich (dpa / lby) - The footballers of FC Bayern Munich have signed Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir. The 18-year-old national goalkeeper of Iceland had previously been loaned to Bayern from Everton. "I'm super grateful for the opportunity that a club as big as Bayern Munich plans with me for such a long time," Rúnarsdóttir said in a club statement on Monday.
Rúnarsdóttir, who made her debut in Iceland's third division at the age of 13, has been given a contract until June 30, 2026. "At 18, Cecilía is one of the most talented goalkeepers in the world," said Bianca Rech, FC Bayern's sporting director Women. "She has absolutely convinced us of her qualities over the past few months."
