Bavaria: Numbers are falling significantly: the burden on the clinics is decreasing

From the incidence to the burden on the clinics - several important corona numbers in Bavaria are currently falling. In many intensive care units, however, the situation is still tense.

Berlin/Erlangen (dpa/lby) - The corona numbers in Bavaria are falling on several levels. After the 7-day incidences have been showing a clear downward trend for around two weeks, this is now also noticeable in the normal and intensive care units, as can be seen from the figures published on Friday. The RKI reports an incidence of 484 for the Free State. Two weeks ago it was almost twice as high at 958.3.

When it comes to the incidence figures, however, experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.

Several indicators for the situation in hospitals are currently pointing downwards: The number of hospitalizations reported by the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) in connection with Corona fell to 1056 within seven days. Two weeks ago, the value, which also includes normal stations, was just under 1500. That was higher than at the peak of the delta wave, which had overwhelmed intensive care units.

The number of corona patients in Bavarian intensive care units is now falling again. The nationwide intensive register reported a value of 216 on Friday morning. At the end of July, the value was temporarily more than 280.

However, one cannot speak of relaxation in the intensive care units – however, the lack of staff should also make itself felt here. As of Thursday, 71 Bavarian intensive care units reported restricted operation, in 51 it was partially restricted. 53 intensive care units reported regular operation. At the end of July, however, the numbers looked a good bit worse: At that time, 87 intensive care units reported restricted operation.

In addition, there is now only one district-free city in Bavaria with an incidence of over 1000. However, the values in Kaufbeuren have recently fallen significantly and at 1088 are only relatively slightly above this limit.
