Bayern: Barter deal: Demirovic comes to FCA, Gregoritsch goes

Augsburg (dpa/lby) - Ermedin Demirovic (24)'s move from SC Freiburg to FC Augsburg is perfect, as is Michael Gregoritsch's (28) move in the other direction. As the FCA announced on Friday, Demirovic has received a four-year contract with the Swabians until June 30, 2026. Both Bundesliga clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer modalities. The "kicker" had previously reported about it.

Gregoritsch's contract with FCA would have expired on June 30, 2023. Demirovic's contract in Freiburg should run until the end of June 2024. "We are very pleased that Ermedin Demirovic has chosen our FCA because he is convinced that he can develop optimally as a young player in Augsburg," said managing director Stefan Reuter about the Bosnia and Herzegovina international.

"FCA offers a great environment and has a young team with great potential, which is why I'm very happy to be in Augsburg. It's ideal that we're going straight to the training camp," said the professional.

At the same time Gregoritsch leaves FCA and moves to the Europa League participants in Breisgau. "Michael Gregoritsch signaled to us that he would like to make the move to Freiburg because the overall package there is very attractive for him as an experienced player. It's certainly not an everyday situation, but we see this move as a win-win situation for everyone involved," said Reuter.

On the first day of the new season, FC Augsburg welcomes SC Freiburg - so a quick reunion with the respective ex-colleagues is imminent.
