Bayern: "Not competitive": Regensburg experiences 0: 6 home debacle

What was going on? Regensburg is completely dismantled. Almost every shot from Karlsruhe hits the mark. Jahn coach Selimbegovic and captain Gimber find clear words. There are no positives.

Regensburg (dpa / lby) - "Unclean, unfocused, completely wrong turn": Jahn coach Mersad Selimbegovic went after the hearty 0: 6 swatter against Karlsruher SC on Saturday with his team in the court. The coach of the second division soccer club described the harmless 90 minutes of his declassed eleven as a "completely used day". "Of the ten decisions we made, eleven were wrong," complained the 40-year-old. After a strong start to the season, Regensburg keeps slipping towards the bottom of the table.

Even referee Michael Bacher seemed to feel sorry for the people of Regensburg. Despite a few interruptions, the referee didn't allow a second to be replayed in an intense game. With heads bowed, the Upper Palatinate, who must have been longing for the final whistle, dragged themselves off the wet pitch.

"It was nice football, but only for one team," observed Selimbegovic. For more than 90 minutes, the unimaginative Jahn watched how the guests combined across the lawn without any problems. The otherwise strong defense, which had only allowed one goal up to the game, crumbled enormously. Jahn keeper Dejan Stojanovic was under constant fire.

"It's difficult to explain that we're falling apart like this," said captain Benedikt Gimber and criticized: "We were just too sleepy from the first minute to the 90th. Today we just weren't competitive. Extremely bitter."

Marcel Franke (7th), Paul Nebel (14th) and Jerôme Gondorf (43rd) opened the goal spectacle for the ripped off Badeners. Fabian Schleusener (48th/66th) and Tim Breithaupt (78th) followed suit. "It feels like every shot went in," said Jahn defender Benedikt Saller: "But it's better to be 6-0 once than 1-0 five times."

The three changes that the Jahn coach made during the break had no positive effect. On the contrary: Substitute Scott Kennedy carelessly gave up a ball in his own penalty area - Schleusener used the invitation to make it 4-0. "With the 4-0, the game was completely over," said Selimbegovic. Gimber demanded: "In this way, it just can't happen to us again."
