Bayern: Unresolved goalkeeper question: FC Bayern starts again

Munich (dpa / lby) - FC Bayern Munich starts again. For coach Julian Nagelsmann's team, the first medical examinations and performance diagnostics are on the agenda for Tuesday. A day later, Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich and Co. train again on the lawn at Säbener Straße for the first time. On January 6, the record German soccer champion will move into his six-day training camp in Doha in the World Cup country of Qatar. The Bundesliga season continues for the leaders at RB Leipzig on January 20th.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be out until the end of the season after breaking his lower leg, as will defender Lucas Hernandez (torn cruciate ligament). In the case of star striker Sadio Mané, it is unclear when he will be able to start chasing goals again after an operation on his fibula head.

After Neuer's serious injury, the Munich team, who are still represented in all three competitions, are still looking for a replacement. The main candidates are Alexander Nübel (26/AS Monaco), Yann Sommer (34/Borussia Mönchengladbach) and recently Kevin Trapp (32/Eintracht Frankfurt).
