Offenbach (dpa/lhe) - At the start of the week, clear, mostly dry weather is expected in Hesse. On Monday, the maximum temperatures are between 26 and 30 degrees Celsius, in the higher mountains around 24 degrees, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Sunday. In the north Hessian mountains there could be showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. In the night of Tuesday denser cloud fields are gathering, there could be showers and thunderstorms in some areas. The temperatures drop to 16 to 12 degrees.

On Tuesday, the meteorologists expect changing to heavy clouds. There are local showers and some strong thunderstorms. The expected highs are between 24 and 29 degrees. On Wednesday it will remain cloudy. At times, showery rain and isolated thunderstorms are to be expected. The temperatures reach 23 to 27 degrees, at high altitudes 20 degrees.
