Cologne (dpa / lnw) - After an accident in Cologne in which a 20-year-old pedestrian was hit by a freight train, the police are looking for witnesses. According to the first indications, the woman is said to have crossed the level crossing on Saturday night despite the red traffic light and acoustic warning signal, as the police announced on Sunday. How the accident happened is still being determined.
The 20-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries. The 50-year-old driver of the freight train was also taken to a clinic with a shock, the police said on Sunday. The level crossing was therefore closed for several hours for the accident recording.
