Hesse: Federal police catch two luggage thieves in the main train station

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The federal police arrested two suspected luggage thieves in Frankfurt's main train station. In one case, civil servants observed a 36-year-old last Friday stealing a briefcase including a laptop and headphones worth around 1,600 euros from an ICE that was ready to depart. As the federal police announced on Monday, the bag was quickly returned to the 28-year-old owner after the thief was arrested.

In the other case, the officers were also able to identify a 26-year-old via video surveillance last Friday and arrest him a little later. Two mobile phones and a backpack with a wallet were found on him, which he is said to have previously stolen from three travelers. Both suspects, who have no permanent residence in Germany, were taken into custody.
