Taunusstein (dpa/lhe) - Hesse's Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) has opened a new police center in Taunusstein (Rheingau-Taunus district). 35 police officers will be on duty there in an area of ​​around 1,500 square meters, the Minister of the Interior announced on Tuesday and announced further additional staff in the department for the next few years.

"Security thrives on on-site presence," emphasized Felix Paschek, President of the West Hesse Police Headquarters. In addition to the police station, a regional investigative team focusing on burglary, drug-related crime and crimes committed by multiple and intensive offenders as well as the regional transport service will also be based in the new center.
