Loir et Cher. After a fatal argument about a "sum of money", a young man was indicted.

These facts were discovered in Mer (Loiret-Cher), which is 20 km from Blois. Frederic Chevallier, the prosecutor, said that two men argued over a money sum.

The victim was then given "a blow or two blows" by one of the protagonists. Frederic Chevallier said that the victim died on the streets after running after his attacker.

The 25-year old respondent was taken into custody at his home and gave a version which was not supported by the first elements. The prefect of Loir-et-Cher ordered that his police custody be retaken after he was placed in compulsory care.

On Tuesday, police custody was restored and the suspect was released from hospital. On Wednesday, the prosecutor stated that the suspect was brought in front of an investigating judge and charged with intentional homicide. The young man was placed in pre-trial custody after he had been convicted in 2020 of acts of violence using a weapon.

According to La Nouvelle Republique, the victim was a father aged 35. Mer hosted a white march on Sunday.
