Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Anklam Volunteer Center honored with Three Kings Prize

Anklam/Berlin (dpa/mv) - The "Anklam Volunteer Center" (West Pomerania-Greifswald) receives the Three Kings Prize from the Catholic Archdiocese of Berlin. The Archdiocese announced on Friday in Berlin that the diverse voluntary commitments in Anklam, which are supported and bundled by the Caritas Volunteer Center, are being honored. The award has been presented once a year for 20 years and is endowed with 2000 euros. The occasion is Epiphany on January 6th.

Central concerns of the Caritas facility are the promotion of civic engagement, the bringing together of different generations, the integration of people with a migration background and the reduction of prejudices. The core has been the "Wegwarte" neighborhood meeting place since 2013, where language, handicraft and creative courses as well as information events on social, societal and political topics and the "Fair Breakfast" are offered regularly.

The Catholic Christians in Western Pomerania belong historically and canonically to the Archdiocese of Berlin, while the Catholics in Mecklenburg belong to the Archdiocese of Hamburg.
