The young woman was dead immediately after the car hit her, said a spokeswoman for the Neubrandenburg police headquarters on Friday. The media had previously reported.
The accident happened on the evening of Christmas Day near Malchin (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district). It was caused by a 21-year-old driver. She drove on after the collision and only contacted the police the next day after reports of the accident in the media, a police spokeswoman said. The young woman said she heard a bang.
