North Rhine-Westphalia: 88-year-old cyclist died after colliding with the train

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - An 88-year-old cyclist died of his serious injuries after a collision with a tram in Duisburg. The police announced on Friday. According to initial investigations, the senior rode his bike over the train tracks on red on Wednesday. The U79, which had just come out of a tunnel, was unable to brake in time. The man suffered serious head injuries, which he did not survive. Two passengers on the train were slightly injured by the emergency braking.
