North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia at 213.6

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The downward trend in new corona infections is continuing in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence was 213.6 on Tuesday. A week ago, 319.9 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported within seven days. Four weeks ago (May 3) the reading was 578.0.

According to the RKI, 12,858 confirmed new cases and 26 deaths related to the corona virus were reported for the most populous federal state.

For some time now, however, experts have been assuming that there is a high number of unrecorded cases of infection - for example because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only these count in the statistics.
