North Rhine-Westphalia: Mask requirement in NRW local transport remains

Dusseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The mask requirement in local public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia will be extended until shortly before the start of the summer holidays. On Tuesday, the NRW Ministry of Health extended the previously applicable Corona Protection Ordinance until June 23 without changes.

The mask requirement continues to apply in medical and nursing facilities such as medical practices, hospitals and nursing homes as well as in state facilities for the joint accommodation of many people. These include, in particular, refugee accommodation and community accommodation for the homeless.

In addition, hospitals and care facilities may only be entered by visitors with a current negative test certificate. The previous test obligations continue to apply to employees and new employees.

The previous Corona Protection Ordinance expires on Friday. The summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia start on June 27 this year.
