The regulations for health care in the country's correctional facilities devote an entire paragraph to contraception. He also explains why female prisoners are entitled to the pill - even without sex: "The contraceptive effect should still exist at the time of any prison leave or release". So that there is no gap, women can order the pill. "If there are no medical reasons against it, the prisoner's request should be granted," says the service regulations.
How often this actually happens is "not statistically recorded," according to the ministry.
