North Rhine-Westphalia: thieves steal massive bronze plaques from World War II memorial

Siegen (dpa / lnw) - Unknown people stole two massive bronze plaques from a memorial in a cemetery in Siegen. The thieves used force to remove the approximately 50 to 60 kilogram plates with the names of those who died in World War II, the police said on Thursday. Two bronze letterings have also disappeared. The police are now hoping for information from witnesses.
