According to the ADAC, from Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, more short vacationers from NRW should head towards the North and Baltic Sea coasts or the Netherlands - and come back on Monday afternoon.
There could be particular problems on the A40: the important east-west connection in the Ruhr area will be completely blocked from Friday evening due to construction work between the Duisburg-Rheinhausen and ports junctions in the direction of Essen. According to the project management company Deges, there is only one lane in the opposite direction to Venlo.
