Dardesheim (dpa/sa) - A motorcyclist died on Monday afternoon during an overtaking maneuver near Dardesheim (Harz district). Any help came too late for the 59-year-old, only death could be determined, the police said.
Accordingly, the man on his machine wanted to overtake a truck before a slight right-hand bend and apparently overlooked a light vehicle driving in front of it when he cut back. The motorcycle collided with it and crashed into a tree. The driver of the light vehicle was unharmed.
The car and motorcycle had to be towed away, sources said. A light vehicle is significantly smaller than an ordinary car and only drives 45 kilometers per hour.
