Aschersleben (dpa/sa) - The daycare center "Schackstedter Strolche" from Aschersleben (Salzlandkreis) is among the finalists for the German Kita Prize 2023. The facility is one of ten daycare centers in the running for a place in the category "Local Alliance for early education of the year", as the German Children and Youth Foundation announced on Tuesday. The prize recognizes the daily commitment of people in day care centers. It is also considered proof of the quality of innovative early childhood education. The winners are selected by a jury. The award will be presented in Berlin in May 2023.
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and the German Children and Youth Foundation, together with other partners, are awarding the German Kita Prize for the sixth time. According to the information, around 750 daycare centers and local alliances have applied for 2023.
