Naumburg (dpa/sa) - Children, young people and women with the name Uta will meet in Naumburg from today. Around 130 Utas have registered so far, the organizers said. Two of the Utas will be there for the eighth time. The youngest Uta is eleven years old and is taking part in the meeting for the third time, according to the organizers.
For the participants there is a colorful program of guided tours, excursions, creative workshops and concerts spread over three days. A highlight on Friday is the ceremonial opening of the Uta meeting in the Unesco World Heritage Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul. With what is now the eighth festival, every two years the well-known donor figure of Naumburg Cathedral, Uta von Ballenstedt, is honored. There are twelve statues in total. They are among the most important works of art of the Middle Ages.
